What is egg donor ivf cycle

In certain rare cases, the women’s eggs are not healthy and the woman needs to replace her oocytes from donor oocytes. The process of Egg Donation typically involves extracting eggs from a woman who has willingly come forward to donate her eggs. These oocytes retrieved from the donor, are fertilised with Male partner’s sperms in a laboratory and the resultant embryos are then transferred into the recipient’s (intending mother) uterus. In Donor Egg IVF, the intended mother will not be genetically related to her child, the intended father will be, as his sperms are used.

Process For Intending Couple

Counselling

The couple will receive counselling from a doctor and a psychologist to discuss the medical, financial, and legal implications of egg donation.

Application

The couple will register with an egg donation agency and provide information about their medical history, family history, and reasons for seeking egg donation.

Matching With Egg Donor

The matching process is complex and takes into account many factors, including the couple's preferences, the donor's medical history, and the compatibility of their genes. The bank will work with the couple to find a donor who is a good match for them.

IVF Cycle

The donor will take fertility drugs to stimulate her ovaries to produce multiple eggs. Once the eggs are mature, they will be retrieved through a minimally invasive procedure. The eggs will then be fertilized with the recipient's partner's sperm in the laboratory.

Embryo Transfer

The embryos will be transferred to the recipient's uterus. The recipient will then be monitored closely for signs of pregnancy.

Legal and Ethical Considerations

Donor Screening

Our egg donors are carefully selected and screened to ensure the highest quality. We only work with our own registered ART bank, and we do not allow any intermediaries.

Parental Rights

By donating eggs, our donors agree to relinquish all parental rights over any children that may be born from their gametes.

Insurance

Couples who use our egg donation services are required to purchase insurance for 12 months to cover any potential complications with the donor. This insurance will cover the cost of medical care, lost wages, and other expenses.

Affidavit

Couples are also required to notarize an affidavit confirming that they will cover any costs not covered by insurance. This affidavit ensures that the donor is protected in the event of any unforeseen circumstances.

Once in a Lifetime

Our donors are only allowed to donate their eggs once in their lifetime. This means that your donor will not be able to donate eggs to any other patient.

Select Your Own Donor

You have the freedom to choose your own egg donor from our database. We will provide you with a code for the donor you select, which you can use to make the necessary arrangements.

No Sharing

Unlike other egg donor banks, we do not share our donor eggs. This means that all eggs will be yours, giving you the opportunity to have children with the same genetic background.

What to Look for in an Egg Donor

This is probably the most difficult part to answer. But from our 20+ years of experience tells us this is what usually couples look for

  • In India couples still do not tell their children that the child born is from egg donation. To ensure that this little secret stays within the family, the basic most feature to match is the blood group.
  • Indeed the body physique and features. Say a couple about 5.8 feet height, should not look for a donor who is just 4.11 or 5 feet
  • Medical health and psychological health of the donor
  • Family medical history

Eligibility Criteria for the couple

Be married or a single woman who is either divorced or widowed

Be less than 50 years old

Hold any country's citizenship

Your donor can be known or unknown to you

You may have a child or not

You must be in good physical and mental health

You must undergo medical and psychological evaluations

You must be clear of all infectious diseases

You must sign an affidavit stating that you will take all responsibility towards the children born through IVF and egg donation procedure, irrespective of the outcome

You can only start the process with an Egg Donor Bank and not an ART Clinic
